Input Smoothing?

I am now trying to devise a way to throttle back input so that I can keep the higher voltage/torque. This seems to be slightly beyond my skill level though. I think what I would need is something that follows a sine wave on input. This stage demonstrates the problem. The boxes should remain on the platform when the slider is manipulated; even if jerked up and down.
