If problems, restart the level, can happen if running it like this attached to pixel or platfor statically but it never fail to operate mounted on rides.

New compact gearbox with 3 gears + neutral and reverse.

Now alone and editable ( a pain extracting it out the car xD )

I'm working on more compact one with integrated mini motor of about half the size.

Best way to use it is to start building around from it, and attach wheels or second shaft on the plank at the left.

This is designed to move to the right in R, and to the left with positive gears ( but can be reversed quite easy )
