The power/intake stroke is slower and the compression/exhaust stroke is faster. This increases thermal efficiency on the power stroke and aligns the direction of force straight down the cylinder but... Loses are made from the compression/exhaust stroke and extreme vibrations.
However, more significant increase in piston stroke occurs as the cylinder block gets shorter and offset increases. The same crank, rod, and cylinder increases in displacement as the block gets slightly smaller. This increase in displacement is a good thing.
The bad thing is its already patented from Long ago
